Mufi Hannemann: Democrat for Hawaii's 2nd Congressional District

We have some very exciting news about the latest poll numbers and the endorsement of West Hawaii Today, the third major daily newspaper to give Mufi Hannemann its nod.

The results of the latest Hawaii News Now/Honolulu Star-Advertiser “Hawaii Poll” were released just a few minutes ago, showing Mufi Hannemann with a double-digit lead over our nearest opponent, 43-33%. Among neighbor island voters, who represent nearly two-thirds of the electorate, Hannemann’s lead expands to an impressive 44-29%.

Today’s results corroborate the findings of our own internal poll, taken during the same time period, which also showed us with a strong lead.

Our campaign also received an endorsement this morning from West Hawaii Today. The paper’s editorial board stated, “We favor Democrat Mufi Hannemann in this contest. He has the knowledge, political savvy, business skills, fortitude and connections to represent Hawaii’s people very effectively.”

This is the third major newspaper endorsement our campaign has received in the past few weeks. After meeting with the candidates, thoroughly examining their backgrounds, and considering their ability to be effective on Capitol Hill, The Maui News, The Honolulu Star-Advertiser, and West Hawaii Today all selected Mufi Hannemann as the “right candidate at the right time,” the leader “most likely to provide effective representation,” and the person who can best “make headway and stand out among the crowd inside the beltway.”

In these last two weeks before the August 11th primary election, it is clear that our campaign’s positive message is resonating with the voters of Hawaii’s 2nd Congressional District.

It’s time to send a leader to Congress who can bring people together from Day One to get the job done based on a proven track record of results, not a record number of promises made in the course of a campaign. Hawaii deserves a collaborative representative who has the experience to hit the ground running to build a brighter future for our keiki, kupuna, and middle-class families.

With just thirteen days left to go, we’d like to ask you once again for your financial kokua to keep the momentum going. Any amount – $25, $50, or $100 – would help us to spread our message via TV, radio, print, and in the mail.
