ILWU Endorses Hannemann for Congress
ILWU Endorses Mufi Hannemann for Congress: PAC cites Hannemann’s Experience
The ILWU Local 142 Political Action Committee has endorsed Mufi Hannemann for the U.S. House of Representatives for the 2nd congressional district in 2012. Now more than ever Hawaii needs a progressive and united team for our congressional delegation to break the Republican stranglehold on Congress in their uncompromising servitude to the wealthiest 1% while ignoring the growing inequality, lack of good jobs, and hardships faced by the vast majority of workings Americans. We need people like Mufi Hannemann who will stand up for the working people.
Mufi has done an outstanding job as Mayor of Honolulu and holds the experience, skills and leadership qualities for this office. In announcing the endorsement, Isaac Fiesta Jr., union president said, “Hannemann has earned the trust and support from labor unions throughout his public service. We will urge our members and retirees to support his candidacy.”
Mufi’s intelligence, energy and drive to succeed will give focus to our priorities of stimulating job growth, preserving Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid, as well as bring the Pacific region to the forefront of American foreign policy.
