Hawaii Poll Shows Hannemann With 45% Lead

Hawaii News Now and the Honolulu Star-Advertiser recently released the results of the latest Hawaii Poll for the 2nd Congressional District race.

The independent poll showed that among likely Democratic Primary voters, 65% would vote for Mufi Hannemann, and only 20% for our nearest competitor. We are thrilled by these results, which indicate a commanding 45% lead with less than six months left before the August 11th Primary.

Furthermore, the poll also found that 59% of voters in the 2nd Congressional District have a favorable opinion of Mufi Hannemann, compared to 18% for our nearest competitor. The Star-Advertiser/Hawaii News Now poll validates our own internal poll taken at the end of January, which showed Mufi with a 42% lead, and 57% favorability in a five-way race.

These two recent polls clearly show that our message of growing the economy, building Hawaii’s role in the Pacific, prioritizing education, and protecting the programs that mean so much to our working families, our keiki, and our kupuna is resonating with the voters of Hawaii’s 2nd Congressional District.
