Our Latest Ad and Poll Numbers

Dear Friends and Supporters,

Our campaign will soon debut our next television ad, “Education.”

When he released his education platform, Mufi Hannemann pledged to make improving our education system one of his top priorities. In Congress, he will work hard to invest in early childhood education, provide collaborative leadership to support our teachers, and ensure that higher education is accessible and affordable for Hawaii’s families, no matter how difficult it may be, no matter how long it takes.

Mufi Hannemann’s dedication to improving America’s education system has earned our campaign the coveted endorsement of HSTA, UHPA, and HGEA, the three unions which represent Hawaii’s more than 13,000 public school teachers, 4,000 university faculty members, and 830 public school principals, vice principals, and educational officers. In addition to releasing our latest ad this week, we have also released the results of the most recent poll in the 2nd Congressional District race, which shows us with a strong lead with just one month to go before voters first start casting their absentee ballots. We are very confident in the results of this poll, which was conducted last week by QMark Research, a well-respected local firm, with live Hawaii-based interviewers.

QMark’s poll showed that among core Democratic primary election voters, Mufi Hannemann outpolled our nearest opponent by 18 points, 45 to 27 percent. Among these Democratic voters, Mufi leads among males, 43 to 27 percent, among females 48 to 26 percent, among Oahu voters 48 to 34 percent, and among Neighbor Island voters 44 to 21 percent. In the favorable-unfavorable scorecard, Mufi had a 51 percent favorable to a 29 percent unfavorable rating, with 18 percent having no opinion. Click here to read more about our poll.

It is very gratifying to have so much support from people all across the state, and we’d like to personally ask for your financial assistance as we continue to work hard to reach out to voters in every part of the district. Please visit our website to make a donation of any amount – $100, $50, $25, or whatever you are able to give – to our campaign. On our website, you’ll also find links to volunteer on our campaign, host a talk story at your home or community organization, and order a yard sign or bumper sticker. Aloha,

The Team at Hannemann for Congress
